Simply delicious crispy fish fingers

Making your own crispy fish fingers with: NESTLÉ® CERELAC® just got easy and tasty for you to enjoy with your children and family.

This recipe is a delicious way to incorporate our NESTLÉ® CERELAC® rice cereal to add an extra crunch to the fish batter. Before you start making these, it’s important to debone the fish.

Whip up this crispy fish finger during the week for a delicious dinner or lunch.


180 ml NESTLÉ® CERELAC® Rice Cereal
200 g White fish, skinless and boneless
2 Eggs
5 ml Fresh fennel
30 ml Parmesan cheese
125 ml Cake flour
45 ml Olive oil
1 ml Dried mixed herbs
1 ml Paprika

Step by step
  • Whisk the eggs in a bowl
    IMPORTANT NOTE: Ensure the fish is deboned

  • Cut the fish into easy to hold strips
    To make the NESTLÉ® CERELAC® Rice Cereal mixture:

  • Combine the NESTLÉ® CERELAC® Rice Cereal & parmesan cheese in a bowl or on a plate
    To make the flour mixture:

  • Combine the cake flour, dried herbs, fennel & paprika

  • Dip and coat fish in the flour mixture

  • Shake off excess flour

  • Dip in the egg

  • Roll & coat the fish in the NESTLÉ® CERELAC® Rice Cereal mixture

  • Heat the oil in a pan and gently fry the fish pieces over a medium heat for 3 – 4 minutes per side or until golden and crispy

  • Note

    Fish fingers can be baked
    1. Preheat the oven to 190°C and place the fish strips onto a prepared baking sheet.
    2. Spray the fish strips well with olive oil spray and bake in the oven for 4 – 6 minutes per side, until crispy and cooked through.
